Good evening everyone,

We are getting very close to our bridal show and have been very busy getting everything ready.  I know we offer the best service for the money over all our computation but how to get that across to all the couples looking for wedding photography is the challenge.  But Jessica and I will do our best and that’s all we can do.  We have set up on Saturday and the show is Sunday.  There are going to be ten photographers there with price ranges of $1100 to $10,000 this must be overwhelming to anyone looking for a photographer.  All I can say is look at what you get for the money and make sure you are comfortable around your photographer it will show in the pictures.
Some standard questions to ask are
Will he/she be taking the photos at your wedding?
If not, you should meet the person who will be and ask him/her these questions.

What styles do they specialize in? Do they do any creative shoots?
You want to make sure the photographer is comfortable shooting the style you prefer. Communicate what style you want.

What type of camera will the photographer use?
You will get a sense about the photographers knowledge and experience.

Does the photographer use an assistant? Is there an extra charge for this?
Usually an assistant who knows and understand wedding photography is there and makes your photographer's job faster and easier.

Will there be backup equipment available? And what happens if the photographer is ill?
You want to be sure the photographer is prepared in case of emergency. Make sure your wedding photographer has adequate backup equipment of the same type and quality. Also, you want to know the backup photographer is someone you would want to photograph your wedding.

Can other people take photos while you are taking photos?
Some photographers will not allow others to take pictures at the same time he/she is. The other cameras flash may effect the photographers photo or may distract the people in the photo to look another way. The answer to this question may be important to you if you want others to freely shoot photos during your formal session.

Has he/she worked at your event locations before? How did it work out?
Lighting issues and restrictions on using flashes may come up as a surprise once you are at your event location. If your photographer checks out the location beforehand, he will be prepared for these surprises.

Should your event last longer than scheduled, will they stay? Extra charge?
Sometimes the day can last longer than expected, and if so, is the photographer willing to stay and at what cost to you?

How many photos come in each package? What is the breakdown per photo?
You should have an idea of how many photos you want and what you are getting with the package.

What types of photos will be taken (B/W, Color, Antiques, etc..)?
You should know what type you want and if the photographer is willing to take more of what you want.

Will they accept of list from you, for specific photos to be taken?
Make sure the photographer is willing to accept a list of your must haves!

What attire will they and their assistants wear?
You want to make sure they will look professional!

How long after the event will the proofs be ready?
This could vary drastically, 2 weeks, 2 months, 6 months ,etc.

What type and how much assistance will they provide in planning your album?

It is nice to have a professional assist you in planning your album, it can be a bit overwhelming if you are not sure what you want.

Will they give you the negatives or what is the charge?
Photographers have the rights to their photographs and may not want to give up the negatives or digital full resolution files. It may be an added cost on the contract.

Life Love and Helping Others

My wife and I have been married for almost two years now.  We have had our good times and bad but I love her more each day.  I meet her for lunch today and in the middle of her brother talking and Addison throwing a fit because she wanted another French fry I looked over at her and realized I love her more than anything.  See is my best friend and wonderful mother.  Addison and I are very lucky.

For all of you that are as lucky as me don’t take it for granite, true lover is hard to fiend and harder to keep.  Any time you spend day in and day out with someone there are challenging times and how you address these issues will make a big deference on your mirage.   I am good at saying it but not so well at doing it, but I do know I need to work on my communication skills as most do.

Life is strange and things happen that don’t make since, how you deal with these events makes you the person you are today.  It is easy to complain about what is going on in the world but very hard to make a deference.  But don’t be one that goes with the flow be one to make a change.  Just because you can’t change the world you can change one person.  Don’t think you have to have money to change a person’s life; most people just need a helping hart to talk to.  You will be amazed at the rewords you can get from someone after just talking to them, having someone just say thanks makes anyone fell good.  At church over the last couple weeks we have been talking about how to bring others to god.  And how most people just need someone to ask them to go and they will.  Because of this Jessica has been trying to get into some nursing homes and take Addison to just go and talk to them and spend some time with them.  Older people love seeing a baby and she thought this would be a great idea.  But the sad part is no one will return her call, I bet she has called five or six places and nothing.  How come it is so hard to do good?  Do you give up and say I tried?  The answer is NO keep trying and keep looking.  Doing a good deed is not always easy, but the felling you get  afterwards is worth it.  But keep an open mind when it comes to helping, take your neighbor that is always running crazy with the kid’s dinner some night or go volunteer at the local pet shelter.  There is so much you can do that does not cost a dime.

Well that is it for me today I know I went way off track but that happens sometimes.  Good day to all.

Valentines day, Uncle Mathew and a Birthday girl

Happy Valentines Day
The morning started early,  surprised Jessica with Starbucks and breakfast in bed for Valentines day and her birthday also that I was taking the day off of work.  Then we got Addison out of bed for her first valentines day and she opened her presents.  Then after a little nap we headed to the airport to pick up Uncle Mathew.  We are soon heading to an early dinner to the Japanese stake house, then just hang out with Matt.  The weather is very nice and looks to be staying this way for a wile.  We still have a lot of work to do for our wedding show for next weekend.  We offer more than any other photographer and have a fair price.  But we cant spend the big money for advertising like some of your competition but that is why are prices are so good. So we will just have to see how how it works out for us.  Hope all you lovely ladies have a wonderful valentines day.

The Duck Pond Park

After a wonderful morning at church we headed over to Duck Pond Park.  This was the first time we have been to this park but Addison likes to be out side and the weather was perfect.  Jessica had remembered to get some bread from the house so the ducks were happy.  We feed the ducks and watched them play for about an hour then headed home.  Titan had been in his kennel for a couple hours and was sure needing to get out.  Now we are just working around the house and wishing the weekend was not almost over.

Almost 70 Today How Nice No More Ice

With the nice weather today we headed out to the park.  The dog needed to stretch his legs and Addison loves spending time out side.  We went to out normal park and just relaxed,  I was snapping some pictures and Jessica was playing with Addison and reading her magazine.  Not much more going on today it was just a relaxing day and I am still recovering from a cold bug.  Tomorrow we are off to church in the morning then going to feed the ducks I am told.  Also need to sneak away to go get Jessica’s birthday present some time tomorrow.  That's about it for today I will leave you some images from out trip to the park.  Have a good night and if you have the calling go to church tomorrow.  Hit the link below to search for a local church in your area.  If you are not sure what Denomination to pick use (Non Denominational Church)

A Girl and her Grandga

As my daughter Addison grows up I never thought the bond with her grandfather would be so great.  It has been amazing to see them bond and spend time together.  Her grandparents live out of state and she only gets to see them a couple times a year.  For a man that has been so tough all his life and now seeing what a seven mouth old girl can do to him is amazing.  I am so glad that she has her grandfather in her life and I know he is happy to have her.  I can’t wait for the day she gets to go for a ride in his 1969 Mustang like a big girl and be giggling and smiling from ear to ear.  When I am able to capcher that moment it will be a wonderful day.  As Addison grows up and gets to spend more time with her grandfather they will continue their bond and create memories to last.  I now understand how important it is for family and how sad it is when kids don’t have these people in their life to help them out.  Addison will grow up into a wonderful person and the family in her life will play a big part of her success.

There are many kids that need help, not money just your time.  If you have the desires go to your local orphanage and see if you can donate your time.  Take a book and just read to them, play games or just talk about life.  These kids are there because of reason they have no control over but are the ones paying the price for others mistakes.  You can’t believe what an hour of your time each week will do in a young person’s life, you can also take your kids it will be a good life lesson.  It will also help you put your life into prospective and realize your problems are not as bad as you first thought.

Today’s Blog has made me look to see what we can do to help, Please look at the links below to see what you can do.

The End of 2010 Weddings

The last wedding form 2010 was a hit Ashley and Chris were the best. We where able to become friends with them over the time leading up to there wedding.   Chris is a body builder and professional trainer and Ashley is also a trainer and model.  At Ashley's last bodybuilding event for 2010 Chris popped the question and of course she said yes.  I had meet with Ashley a couple times before the wedding and went over all the details so there would not be any surprises.  Jessica and I got there three hours before the start of the wedding and started doing our thing.  After all the pre-wedding images where taken it was time to get ready for the main even.  As Chris was nervously waiting Ashley started down the stairs.  As she made it to the bottom of the stairs her bother walked her to the alter,  Ashley was a beautiful bride and they are a very cute couple.  Jessica and I finished up the night talking about 2500 pictures and now the work begins.  The next day I started culling down the count to the best of the best, editing and putting the finishing touches on each image.  We presented Ashley and Chris with about 400 edited images and they where very happy.   I look forward to the call when they need new born pictures taken.   It is amazing all the new friends we meet.
